Many folks have complained since I took down the forum that was up for the support of gCards. Now, I’ve got a new forum up, this one powered by Vanilla. Hopefully it’ll do a bit better than the last one.
yeah, thanks for a new forum…hopefully it’ll be full of questions/answers soon. i’ve tried the vanilla forum…didnt like it at all. it just seems new and cool but i dont find it as functional as more normal forums, you?

I agree that Vanilla definitely doesn’t seem to have the same number of features and stuff, but I was interested in just a basic forum that was clean and simple – something with a clean, readable codebase and the opportunity for writing extensions if they’re needed.
In the end, it’ll probably boil down to how much spam sneaks in and how much maintenance is needed to keep up and running…

The forum seems to work fine, just not many people over there posting and answering questions. Is it possible for you to stop by and address the one I have posted concerning the sound feature in gcards?
Thanks for an easy to use script!

We’ve been slowly redoing your gcards program to suit our own needs via the forum… I hope that’s OK with you… And, do you visit there much? If you find one of our mods is a problem will you please let us know?
Thanks,

Trying out your gcard php for my website. I managed to get it running, but when I try to view the card I sent to myself it gives me a 404 error. Any tips on getting this to work?
Also, any chance on this working with Google Chrome? I have to use IE to get it to show the admin area, etc.
Tried to access your new forum but page shows errors. FYI.
Thanks.

Was trying to view your forum but got this…
Warning: include_once(/home/.jennifur/gneustaetter/gregphoto.net/gcards/vanilla/appg/headers.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/gneustaetter/gregphoto.net/gcards/vanilla/appg/init_vanilla.php on line 17
Would LOVE some examples codes like $dbhost=’ mysql.yahoo.com’…this can help out alot to those who are learning.

Nice product- lots to offer- FREE is wonderful but no support to use it. A webpage to explain installing but not enough info to a newbie in PHP. Many other free ecards offer support or a forum. Newbies to PHP would have a terrible time filling out the config.php. How do I know, I’m one of the newbies who want this wonderful product on their site but can’t get it to work. Valeen’s idea is SUPER!! Examples would be NICE! Any chance of that in the future Greg?

Advertisement should be with marketing ethics:
Selling goods is always right but if there are some conditions are full-filled, 1) The goods should be according to rules specified by the creator of this universe, 2) there must be ethical selling i.e. telling people the right things about the products, you should tell the benefits and dis-benefits of the products, and the marketing or advertising of the products should not contain any immodest pictures and they should not contain any vulgarity in the name of advertising, and they should not be fraudulent and no dishonesty in selling then it is alright to sell a product, or if you don’t follow the guidelines above mentioned then be ready to be toasted in hell fire after you die. Websites are always helpful in one way or the other, anyways, microsoft course a good way to get started to renovate your dreams into the world of reality.
Thanks
